needs an experienced owner

Paz is a beautiful, yet slightly worried greyhound. He was rehomed in 2022, but sadly his home wasn’t quite the right fit for him and he had to be returned back to Sun Valley for his own sake.

His previous owners loved him dearly, but the environment left him a little stressed out and it was in his best interest to come back to us and have us find him a new home.

Paz would do best as either an only dog or with a calm hound in a quiet, more rural home where he has space to be on his own if he needs it. A large garden for him to lounge around in would be ideal, and a house spacious enough for him to not feel surrounded is a must. Paz is a calm, laid back dude and so would be best suited to a dog of a similar temperament. He enjoys mooching around our yard and in our 6 acre field with Swift, a young female greyhound, and regularly spends his days in the kennel lounge with Brody, a young male greyhound. Additionally, to spending his time with hounds Paz enjoys going on walks through the local woodland with a young male mastiff who belongs to a member of our staff and pottering round the field with a labrador type dog named Redd.

It is essential that Paz has his own space, he does not like to be the centre of attention nor does he enjoy being crowded, he can find this quite distressing; preferring to be a background character. Paz is an affectionate dude and his party trick is to tap you gently with his paw for some fuss. However, this is all on his own terms and he isn’t shy about letting you know when he’s had enough. For this reason Paz is not suitable for a home with children.

Ultimately, Paz is a sweet, affectionate and funny boy with people he knows and trusts, but you do need to build that relationship with him and be able to read him in order to have a relationship that is mutually enjoyable.

He gets a bit worried by fireworks / extreme weather like thunder and lightening, so when the weather is bad we wrap him up in a blanket, turn the radio up and let him chill out in peace.

He has a very strong connection with some of the staff at Celia Cross, and we do have a massive soft spot for this stunning boy.

He’s at his happiest when running around in our field, and absolutely loves a treat, which we happily provide him with lots of! You will often find him chilling out in bed, cuddling up to his huge caterpillar toy that he loves dearly.
