would do best with a confident owner

This is our precious little Ivy; a sweet, loving and affectionate greyhound who we currently have the joy of looking after. Ivy came to us with her boyfriend, a greyhound called Christy, and they shared their space together absolutely perfectly. She played fabulously with him in the field, and had no issues with sharing her kennel with him. Ivy has since has two male kennel mates after Christy found his forever home, and she has loved both of them! Introducing her to new dogs has been very easy and she seems to get a lot of her confidence from having another dog around. We would gladly home Ivy to a home with a resident dog, and think she would prefer the company of another dog in the home.

Ivy came to us a very confident, happy go lucky girl who could easily have been homed anywhere. Sadly, over the last few weeks we’ve been dealing with a LOT of fireworks, and this has knocked her confidence. We have noticed that she’s become more wary of new people, and takes a bit more time to warm up to strangers now. She was never like this before the fireworks, and we really did believe she could be homed anywhere. She shows no signs of aggression at all, but will probably be quite a timid little girl when she first goes home. Whoever takes her home should expect that she will need time to settle in, and go at her pace. She LOVES the team here at Sun Valley and is super affectionate and playful with us, and we think she’ll get back to her old self in no time! We do think she’d do best in a calm home, preferably with an experienced owner that will take each day as it comes with her.

Ivy has been on lots of off site walks and sleepovers with our volunteers, who have had nothing but positive things to say about how she got on. This shows us that even when she’s away from the safety of Sun Valley, when she’s with someone she trusts she can flourish in the outside world. Everyone is besotted with her here and we are so eager to find her the perfect home. If you’re a patient home looking for a girl to nurture and love, Ivy would be an amazing little lady to consider.
