suitable for confident first time dog owners

Meet Basil, a lovely, friendly little man who just joined the family!

Basil is a dog lover who shares his kennel with another young, male lurcher. They get on absolutely famously and Basil really does get a lot out of his companionship with his mate. We’d love to home him with another dog, as he is ever so slightly shy and would get a lot of confidence from another dog in the house. We would consider homes where Basil would be an only dog, provided the new owners are willing and able to put the work in to keep him enriched and happy, and are willing to guide him through the process of settling into his new home and life. We think Basil could do well with older, dog savvy kids who will play and rough and tumble with him. He probably will be a bit nervous when he first comes home and adjusts to his new life, so make sure any kids in the home are ok to give him space as he navigates his new life.

Basil is a smart boy, and teaching him tricks and using his brain will ensure the bond between you both will grow more and more each day! We can totally see him getting to a point where can go on adventures, trips to the pubs, beaches etc.. he really is a fantastic little man with so much potential! Young lurchers are an active breed and do require adequate exercise, so make sure you’re an active home who is up for keeping up with Basil’s needs. If you feel like you can nurture a gorgeous little dude and turn him into the cheeky little lad he deserves to be, do get in touch!
