This is Teidi, our gorgeous new addition all the way from Spain! 

One of our lovely volunteers also lends a hand to one of the many sighthound rescues in Spain. It was at one of these dog pounds that he met Teidi, and absolutely fell in love with him. Teidi had been at the rescue for 2 years, just waiting for someone to take him home. As these rescues tend to have up to 200 dogs at a time in their care, it is very easy for lovely, friendly dogs such as Teidi to just get overlooked. After 2 years of going back and forth to the Spanish rescue and noticing that this lovely boy still hadn’t found a home, Andy asked the Main Lady of CCGT, Jane, if she would be able to help. Of course, Jane said yes, and the rest is history! 

Teidi is an absolute superstar. He’s extremely clean in his kennel, very low maintenance, as well as absolutely LOVING people and other dogs. He eats well, sleeps a lot and is genuinely really loving having a comfortable, cosy kennel all to himself.

Teidi is used to being around a lot of dogs and had met some dogs here with no issue at all. He can also live with children and families.

We’ve said that he needs a dog savvy owner because he is a big, STRONG boy, so will need someone who is strong enough to be able to walk him without getting dragged around. He’s also a hunting dog from Benidorm, so naturally, there will be a prey drive there. The prey drive and his strength combined means that first time dog owners might find him a bit overwhelming. You would also need a very secure garden with solid, strong fencing of at least 6ft high. 

If you’re a confident owner, especially one who is used to sight hounds, Teidi would be an absolutely fabulous dog to consider! He has so much potential and love to give, and even though we’ve not had him here long, he is clearly more than ready to find his forever family.
