This is Sesame, a gorgeous little lurcher girl who just joined the Sun Valley family!
Sesame came to us from the pound, so we don’t really know about her past or where she came from. She’s around 2 years old.
We’ve introduced her to some dogs here, and she does have a male lurcher buddy who she shares the yard and field with. She loves to run around the field with him, and is starting to build her confidence with him and will start to engage in lurcher play / chasing with him. It took a few days to get her to a point where she was totally comfortable with him. She wasn’t super confident around him and first, and was a bit awkward around him at first. She’s been here for around a week now, and is really blossoming around him and is starting to get more comfortable and confident. She’s currently kennelled alone as we don’t feel she’s 100% there yet with him, where she can share her space with him without issue. She’s a good girl in her kennel on her own.
She LOVES people, where she can be a bit of a diva with other dogs, she is not like that with people. She is SO affectionate and trusting with humans from the get go. From what we’ve seen of her so far, she may be happier as an only dog where she can really be the star of the family. If you have a dog and are interested in Sesame, we’ll gladly do a few meetings here with her and your dog to see if they could be a good match for her.
She’d make a great family pet, and we will consider families with younger kids too.
Sesame is a young lurcher so only apply if you’re willing to put the work in to enrich and properly exercise a young dog.
