The type of home i need.
Piper is a beautiful, young rough coated lurcher. Piper came to us from a council pound after she was found stray. Piper is a lovely girl but clearly hasn’t had the best start. This has caused her to very wary of strangers. She is looking for a quiet home with no children where she can relax and learn to trust people.
Piper absolutely loves other dogs! Being around other dogs massively increases her confidence and she flourishes around them. Due to this, we feel Piper must have at least one other dog in the home. She would like a confident dog that she could play with and who would help teach her to trust people. Piper loves going out for walks and walks well on a lead, she would need to walk on a harness for added security but loves going out an about, especially meeting other dogs.
Piper is treat and toy motivated and has shown no guarding behaviours toward people or other dogs. We also feel that, with training, Piper would be able to be left for a few hours, if time is built up gradually.
Potential adopters would need to be prepared to do a couple of visits to the kennels with piper to make her more confident around them. An adopter would also need to expect that it may take a few weeks for Piper to become completely comfortable with them and the new home environment. Once Piper gets to know you, she is a lovely playful girl who just needs a home where she can learn how brilliant life can be.
