Meet Gunner; a delightful, gentle giant who recently joined the Sun Valley family. 

Gunner currently shares his kennel with a lively young female who definitely steals the limelight, and Gunner has no issue with taking a back seat and letting his girl shine. He’s easy going, gentle and totally loving. We feel like Gunner could live with a family, and we would totally trust him around children. We know for sure that Gun can live with a female hound, and are happy to introduce him to a resident dog to see how he’d get on with them, if you’re interested in him and already have a dog in the home.

Gunner has been off site a couple of times, and is so incredibly well behaved and chilled out on his adventures. He shows zero interest in other dogs, doesn’t pull on the lead, settles down nicely in pubs and coffee shops, and completely laps up all of the attention that he gets!  He also travels well in the car and settles down almost immediately. These off site outings that Gunner has been on has shown us how reliable, easy going and genuinely fun he is to take out. If you’re someone who likes to go to the pub or coffee shops and want a companion to bring along with you, Gunner would make a fantastic drinking buddy! He gets so much attention when he’s out and about because he’s a big striking boy, and he’ll gladly accept cuddles and fusses from all of the strangers he meets that want to say hello. He is an absolutely astounding mascot for Sun Valley. 

Gunner retired from racing due to a hock injury, so we’ve been careful with exercising him here at SV so that we can be sure he’ll heal with no complications. We don’t think his previous injury will cause any issues in his future at all, but this is something we’re happy to discuss in person if you’re interested in meeting him. All in all, Gunner is a fabulous young man who is more than ready to find his forever home. He is an absolute joy to know and look after!
