Figgy is a gorgeous, chilled out, affectionate lurcher who joined the family in November 2024.

We got a call from a vet surgery saying they had a young lurcher brought into their care, who had a horribly broken leg. They quickly realised the leg was too damaged to save, so it had to be amputated. The vets asked if after his surgery, Figgy could come to Sun Valley to recover and then find his forever home with us. After taking one look at his gorgeous little face, how could we say no?! Figgy’s recovery has gone seamlessly, and he should have a long, happy, healthy life as a tri-pod. Despite his clearly horrendous start in life where he was totally let down by humans, Figgy loves nothing more than to snuggle up with the team at Sun Valley, and is so trusting, affectionate and sweet. 

Figgy has met dozens of dogs during his stay here, and he truly is perfect with each of them. He has been so chill (borderline lazy) since coming to us, and has honestly been a dream to look after.

He currently lives with another little female lurcher in his kennel, and they’re great friends! He shares his space amazingly with her, and truly loves the company. We think Figgy could live with any dog, and could absolutely live with children. He will be the perfect family pet, and already has a massive fan club here at SV. Figaro is now ready to find his forever sofa, and forever family, and we can’t wait for the day to come! Who ever takes Fig home will be extremely lucky, he really is an absolute joy.
