Meet our absolute little dream boat who just joined the family; Baxter!  

Baxter arrived at Sun Valley in June 2025 and has been absolutely smashing so far. He is lovely and confident when he goes off site, he isn’t strong on the lead for his size, and has beautiful lead manners. He was initially a bit nervous when he first came, but within a couple of hours he showed us his true, loving, goofy personality. He shares his space with another male lurcher, and he’s really brilliant with him. He could play and run around all day, there’s nothing he loves more than to goof around in our field with his buddy. He’d do well in an active, loving home, with people who can give him the enrichment and attention that he craves. We’re still assessing Baxter, but we have noticed that when we introduce him to new dogs he does get a bit nervous and sometimes a bit grumbly. We’re still assessing whether or not he’d do better as an only dog. If you have a dog and you’re interested in Baxter, we’ll still consider you and it’ll give us another chance to see how he interacts with new dogs. If you have another dog, please note that Baxter is a strong bull lurcher, and he plays like a lurcher, so you’ll need to have a dog who enjoys playing rough. He is good at correcting his friend when he gets too over excited, and is definitely the patriarch of the pair! He could live with older kids, but because he has a slightly nervous side he may do better with kids 10+ who won’t be all over him all day and will understand that he’ll need time to decompress and get used to his new life in a new home. Once his confidence grows he really is the most affectionate and sweet little man. 

There really isn’t enough positive things to say about this incredible boy, he really does tick every box, and he’s rather handsome if we do say so ourselves.
